Room 10's first

This morning room 10 went to the hall.We went there for our first netball lesson. Also it was due to the weather.Their was a girl named Christie who taught us how to play netball.

The first warm-up was bullrush. Also we did smart netball warm-up. Furthermore we did the smart netball warm-up so we can prevent knee and ankle injuries.

After that we began our first activity. We were doing different netball techniques. We did stepping and crouching down while running around the cones. We also had to pass the ball to each other.

Then we played a game called zig-zag relay tag.We were split into 4 groups. We did the same thing in the activity, but we had to touch something and then run back and tag the other person.Well group 4 had won twice. What i enjoyed the most was the zig-zag relay tag because we had put effort and we encouraged each other.Well I felt very energized and pleased to go to our first netball lesson.

Kiwi sports

On Thursday at 9:40am Room 10 had Kiwi sports. We all went down to the school hall because it was raining. We went there for Room 10’s netball lesson. When we arrived we met Antonia and Chrissy who were our coaches for the day!

The first thing we did was an exciting warm-up. Our first warm-up was shore, shark and sea.The shore was on our left, the sea on our right and the shark in the middle of the hall. We went out one by one. Me and Maya were the last standing, but we went out eventually.

The first activity we did was passes. There are 4 different types of passes in netball. There are chest passes, bounce passes, overhead passes and shoulder passes. We also used the passing techniques in a game called Grow and Shrink. The game was very tiring.

Next we all got split up into 4 teams. We were all walking and doing things with the ball. Then we did a relay game. After that we had to complete a task and sit down with our hands on our heads. Also we did techniques with the ball like through our legs, around our body, over and under and throw up and clap 3 times.

After that team 3 had won the challenge. Next we got our things and lined up and went back to class. Finally I felt energised and can’t wait until next week for another netball lesson.

Directions and fitness

This morning it was raining so we had to do our fitness inside with Mrs Raj. We had combined directions like North, East, South, West and more with our fitness. After a couple of minutes we had to do jumping jacks, touch our toes and jump up, hopping and jumping. I really enjoyed doing fitness and learning more about different directions.File:Brosen windrose.svg - Wikimedia Commons

Geometrical shapes

Geometrical shapes

This morning room 10 had fitness on the netball court with Mrs Raj and Miss Card. We were learning how to make geometrical shapes. We made shapes with our bodies.

When we were at the court Mrs Raj told us what shape to make. We made the shapes within our group. The groups had leaders who got us to make the shapes. The leaders were Maya and Kestrel.

The shapes my group made were a square, a circle and a diamond. We got people from the other group to help us to make larger shapes like the trapezium and rectangle. After we made the shapes Miss Card was taking photos.

After making the shapes we had to say 3  facts about each shape that we made. We then searched for shapes around the court. We did star jumps, push ups, step ups and jump up and touch our toes. We ran around the rectangular court 2 times. Both groups won the many challenges Mrs Raj gave us to do. We lined up and walked back to class. We learned geometry while doing fitness. I enjoyed it. 20170505_093225.jpg
